Hoyt Wayne Axton (March 25, 1938 – October 26, 1999) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and a film and television actor. He appeared on Season 4 of the long-running PBS music program Austin City Limits in 1979. This was the only time, he appeared on the show.
He played Randall Peltzer in Gremlins. He was supposed to get a cameo in Gremlins 2: The New Batch and bring Billy a new rain-coat he invented to protect Gizmo from getting wet, but the scene was never filmed because the producers didn't think they needed it.
