Gremlins 2: The New Batch[]
While patrolling the streets for test subjects, they found Gizmo the Mogwai. They had also invented an object that could make rats power electrical items, but it was not perfected as one could not touch the rats without getting an electrical shock.
They had run some tests on Gizmo. While likely not being aware of the Second Rule, in their experimentation they discovered that Gizmo was averse to sunlight and lowered the intensity of the lights in the Splice of Life labratory when they made their presentation to Dr. Catherer. They also discovered that Gizmo was fond of music, and let him out of his cage to dance to an old Rockabilly song. They were pleased that Gizmo seemed to display advanced traits, but Dr. Catherer was not as impressed. When Lewis and Martin were distracted, Gizmo attempted to make a run for it, only to be recaptured by Dr. Catherer.
As the Gremlins took over the building, the pair could be seen escaping together with other scientists.

- The name of the twin brothers, Martin & Lewis, are referred to those two legendary male partners, Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis.
- Though stated to be brothers, their initial dialogue with Catheter implies that one of them may actually be a clone of the other.
