This Vegetable Gremlin is a mutated gremlin at Clamp Center.
History[]
Gremlins 2: The New Batch[]
He's the first Gremlin to become a mutant gremlin, changing into a creature of living vegetation after drinking vegetable DNA, as a result from eating Wally's vegetable medley. A small side effect of this mutation made him prone to belching a lot.
After his mutation, he's one of the first Gremlins to show up in the Clamp Center's main lobby, popping up from the salad bar and attacking a man who used a pair of tongs to pick up a lettuce leaf not realizing it to be the gremlin’s ear. Later, a gremlin dressed as a waiter's shown picking olives off his body to use in drinks. The other gremlins using him almost like a walking vegetable stand. He is killed at the end of the film along with the other Gremlins (except Greta) when they all got fatally electrocuted by the Electric Gremlin.
Deleted Scenes[]
- There were several scenes with him filmed, but most of them were cut out from the film, but they're available to watch in the Additional Scenes featurette on the DVD (which he's actually the deleted scenes):
- There's a deleted scene of the Vegetable Gremlin and Microwave Marge. While everyone's running out of Clamp Center, Marge, who is very drunk on cooking Sherry by this point, spots him in the lobby’s large planter along with numerous other gremlins. Drunkenly laughing to herself, she looks at him, takes a toothpick, picks an olive off him and plops it into her drink. She begins to take a sip before realizing what she just did and runs away screaming as the vegetable gremlin looks at her, confused.
- Another deleted scene shows a gremlin wearing a nurse’s cap putting IV needles connected to salad dressing bottles into the Vegetable gremlin’s skin, either trying to give him a transfusion or perhaps making a meal out of him. Then another scene, shows a squirrel eating a tomato while standing on the Vegetable Gremlin's head when the gremlins were opening cages to take out the animals. The vegitable gremlin however does not seem to mind others eating his produce.
Video Games[]
The Vegetable Gremlin appears in Lego Dimensions as a Non-Playable Character. The Vegetable Gremlin is encountered in the Department Store in the Gremlins World where he is guarded by a large Venus Flytrap that you have to destroy by building a giant buzzsaw, the Vegetable Gremlin is then beaten after building a sun.

- He is the first mutant Gremlin created.
- The belches heard coming from the vegetable gremlin were recorded from Zach Galigan, this was achieved by Zach chugging half a case of Diet Coke “his favorite drink at the time” and then burping loudly.
- The vegetable gremlin’s pre-mutant design is similar to the Secretary gremlin.
